Handmade, Not Off the Shelf

Grab a card at the drugstore and it's the same one hanging in every drugstore in the country. Order a gift online and it ships from a warehouse, not a workshop. Somewhere along the way, shopping stopped feeling personal, and honestly, a little bland.

Mission

We are dedicated to increasing appreciation for and creating access to signature artisan-made gifts. We will assist in fostering relationships and dialogue among artists, their works, and the community.

Community

We showcase approximately 150 artists and vendors. Roughly 70% are local and 85% are regional.We also carry Fair Trade Federation members' items, as well. We will strive to remain a good member of our community, both near and far.

Local Makers

We will seek to empower Makers by providing a platform to showcase their unique creations, ensuring fair compensation for their craftsmanship, and offering a space for the local artistic community to shine.

Kathy Agneta

Kathy was born and raised in Delmar, and she's never really left. Her children and grandchildren live here now too, which is a big part of why community isn't just a talking point for her. It's personal.

The idea for the shop came from years of weekend drives, Kathy, her daughters, and her Mom wandering into the small, quaint shops that fill the towns up and down the Hudson Valley and throughout New England. Every trip home, she had the same thought: Delmar doesn't have anything like this. It was one of her daughters who finally said what Kathy had been thinking for years: open one. In May 2015, she did.

The name belongs to two grandmothers, Dolores Merriman and Helen Pfister, the roots of Kathy's family tree. Neither one ran a shop. What they did was show the people around them, again and again, how to live kindly and show up for their community.
